Partner

Jonathan Ashford BSc (Hons) FCCA ACA ATT 

Jonathan specialises in tailoring accountancy services to suit the practical needs and long-term aspirations of every client. Something he’s been doing for over 25 years. His broad set of skills benefits clients in almost every sector, from contractors and mechanics to those working in the healthcare and creative industries. After helping a family accountancy firm triple in size during his time with them, Jonathan left the business in 2018 to set up Ashford Green alongside his trusted colleague Stephanie Shepherd.

Ever patient, ever energetic, Jonathan is known for being generous with his time and speaking to clients with complete transparency, always explaining complex technical details in plain English. During the past two decades Jonathan has also acted as a mentor and teacher to many new recruits, helping them flourish in their accountancy careers.

With an uncanny ability to retain technical knowledge and recall it when required, Jonathan’s unwillingness to cut corners or take shortcuts has been integral in achieving his many accreditations and qualifications.

Stephanie Shepherd BA (Hons) FCCA CTA ATT

For more than 20 years Stephanie’s clients both big and small have benefitted from her meticulous approach. Openly results-driven, Stephanie’s extensive set of accountancy skills has cemented relationships with clients operating in everything from construction and manufacturing to IT and healthcare.

Professional and patient in equal measure, Stephanie’s attention to detail ensures everything is completed at the right time, in the right way. No exceptions, no excuses. She also ensures clients fully understand what can often be a complicated process, taking the time to answer every burning question fired at her.

Stephanie qualified with ACCA in 2010, before qualifying with the Chartered Institute of Taxation in 2013. In addition to her extensive accountancy knowledge, Stephanie is also a competent Spanish speaker having spent several years sailing and teaching around the globe before dropping anchor in the world of finance. Now a proud Shepherd (not a career change), Stephanie will always be the original Green in Ashford Green.

Vicky Ashford MAAT

Whether it’s a small national charity or SME, Vicky’s considered and methodical approach to bookkeeping ensures clients are free to concentrate on day-to-day business matters. In addition to office administration and bookkeeping, Vicky also helps Ashford Green clients understand how business outgoings today will affect the business tomorrow, in six months, and even a year down the line.

During her 12 years in the industry, Vicky has completed several OCR Bookkeeping courses and gained the AAT qualification.

Caroline Downing

When it comes to boundless energy, Tigger has nothing on our Caroline. Before joining the business in 2020, Caroline spent 20 years working as an accountant for a solicitors and legal firm. Their loss was undoubtedly Ashford Green’s net gain, as Caroline’s infectious bubbliness and extensive Xero and QuickBooks knowledge has seen her add real value from the second she arrived.

Away from the number-crunching Caroline’s quite the culture vulture, whether that’s watching the latest Lloyd Webber production or whizzing down the world’s longest zipwire.
